A former infantry officer, Rupert Gibb joins from Capita plc’s executive search business Veredus, where he led a team responsible for senior executive/board level mandates. His expertise spans the private and public arenas, aligning commercial interest and associated talent requirements between the sectors.
Rupert has developed significant expertise in how the private sector interacts commercially with the public sector, particularly surrounding outsourcing services and the challenges of transferring knowledge and skills between the two. His experience and market knowledge range from service industries and transport to insurance, financial services and the legal profession.
A graduate of the Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst, Rupert spent 15 years in the British Army, moving into executive recruitment on returning to civilian life. He then spent several years as Managing Director of a resourcing business, supporting the activities of Reliance Security Group’s support services business before joining Capita plc in 2008.
At Warren Partners, Rupert will use his extensive knowledge of the business to government (B2G), support service and outsourcing environments to assist clients seeking candidates with key skills in these markets.
“For me, the attraction of Warren Partners is that it has big ambitions and exacting standards,” said Rupert. “Everyone in the team genuinely lives up to the consultancy’s core value of treating others as they would like to be treated.”
Welcoming him on board, Managing Director Vicky Lawton added: “Rupert’s sector experience has synergies with our existing capabilities, particularly in transport, financial services and business outsourcing. After a year of strong growth, we’re adding further depth to the market we operate within. Rupert shares our values, and is dedicated to helping clients build high-performing, sustainable and diverse leadership teams. We are delighted to have him as part of the team."
Also joining the team are Nicola Kenyon and Gerry McAuley, the first two recruits to the new Graduate Researcher Trainee Programme at Warren Partners. They both passed the tough recruitment process with flying colours, and will be using their excellent research and analytical skills to support clients across all practice areas.
Business studies graduate Nicola enjoyed a work placement at Warren Partners in 2011 as part of her degree course, graduating with a first class degree this summer. A talented amateur photographer, she is also a keen sportswoman and represents the University of Chester Rowing Club in competitions across the country.
“I love the ethos at Warren Partners, the way they treat clients and candidates,” said Nicola. “It’s also a great opportunity to put my business studies degree into practice, and to learn about a wide range of market sectors.”
A fluent Spanish speaker, Gerry has just completed a masters degree in modern languages, and will contribute to helping the team further expand Warren Partners’ international reach. Playing five-a-side football, golf and weightlifting keep Gerry fit, and he also has a keen interest in film, music and literature.
“The variety of the role is brilliant, you learn so much every day and the team are very encouraging and friendly,” commented Gerry. “Nicola and I both aspire to develop our careers in executive search and this trainee programme is a great place to start.”
“Clients rely on our in-depth market knowledge and high quality research underpins our ability to deliver the best leaders and sector insight for their businesses,” added Vicky Lawton. “Investing in bright graduates like Nicola and Gerry helps us to maintain a competitive edge and develop our talent pipeline.”
