Sue Tyrer quoted in Acquisitions Monthly
In September 2007, Sue Tyrer, Director at Warren Partners, was quoted in an article in Acquisitions Monthly. The piece examined the way that private equity has lured star talent from the public markets, and asked whether its higher profile and the threat of increased regulation has dented its ambitions.
Sue added: "Investment firms want our network to find the best person for them, but they don't particularly want to pay for it. There's a feeling that if they put out enough information of what they want in the market, especially for non-executives, someone will eventually pop up.
"They fish in a very small pond, but the majority don't want to pay a fee or do anything too proactive, like pay 30 per cent of the salary upfront that executive search firms charge, although they are happy to charge for managing funds upfront as part of their business."
