Local headhunters go down on the farm

Local headhunters go down on the farm As part of Greater Manchester Cares, an initiative run by Business in the Community, the entire team from Warren Partners spent the day working to improve the facilities at CAFT, a devoted charity founded in 1985 by a group of volunteers. The 17th century farmhouse offers free activities to disadvantaged children, including an art and music room, greenhouse, sheep enclosure and assault course.

Local headhunters go down on the farm Activities undertaken by the Warren Partners team involved completing a makeover of the gardens and vegetable plot, adding a splash of colour with a host of new plants and flowers, and repairing the sprinkler system, polytunnel and fencing around the grounds.

Joëlle Warren, Managing Director at Warren Partners, explained: "Every year we shut the office for the day and get everyone involved in helping out a charity. We selected CAFT this year as it is an extremely worthy cause run by a small number of staff and an army of volunteers, and we hope that they and the children will be pleased with the improvements."

Commenting on the day’s events, Jacqueline Manley, Employee Community Involvement Co-ordinator at Business in the Community, said: "We are delighted that Warren Partners chose to help The Children’s Adventure Farm by undertaking a range of practical tasks for the charity with such great professionalism and enthusiasm. The tasks undertaken have had a real impact on the charity by helping to maintain a pleasant environment and creating an accessible outdoor working area for the children to grow their own vegetables."

Alistair Laing, Charity Relationship Manager at CAFT, added: "We have been absolutely bowled over by the hard work, dedication and generosity shown by everyone at Warren Partners - they’ve been fantastic. The work they have put in has made such a huge difference here at The Adventure Farm; they’ve really helped to brighten the place up.
